Games loading from TZXDuino on my Jupiter Ace worked only when oscilloscope was connected. A simple 3k resistor mod and now its loading perfectly from the TZXDuino. Also loading many games is a two part affair with the graphics and then the game. See here retronerd.co.uk/building-a-j...

Sprite masking gave Spectrum games their unique look, and as mentioned by Kevin, involves storing and writing out twice the sprite data, once for the mask, and again for the graphic data, so was slower than just XOR or writing the sprite to the screen (Booty is a good example of that)...

A shelving unit holding a small rough-hewn electric appliance. In comparison to the card catalogues behind it, it's a tiny device, no longer than a desktop radio of the era; documents produced by this 'electric telescope' could be reviewed on the desk itself.

Hypertext was a product of the 60s... because its spiritual and technical precursor, the Mundaneum institute's Universal Decimal Classification, was functionally destroyed by the Nazis razing Belgium in 1940.

It's movie night once again and I introduced the missus to Fantastic Voyage 1966. Great film, still, but such an abrupt ending. We don't don't even find out if they saved the patient!

These people are shameless. I recieved my bill from Yorkshire Water today...up from Β£548 to Β£750, yet they've been trousering billions in dividends from their captive customers for decades rather than invest in infrastructure and preventing leaks pissing all over the county.
Parasites.

2025 Yorkshire Water Bill.
Increase on 2024; 30.9%

Company failures to meet their public service remit, aided by neutered regulatory system.

Reclaim Executive bonuses for the period of underinvestment in the system?

Third of each Yorkshire Water bill goes on debt and dividend The firm has amassed debts of Β£6.2bn and paid out dividends worth Β£522m since 2017-18, figures show.

Third of Yorkshire Water customer bill cash goes on debt & dividend

Similar with other water companies.

Money borrowed to pay dividends, investment neglected, sewage dumped, customers fleeced; aapproved by OFWAT.

Must end the farce. Nationalise without compensation.

Yorkshire Water: 'congratulations we're trying to get 8.2billions for doing nothing for you, so we're raising your annual bill by +Β£300'
