(curse you Yoshi's Story!)
I've updated the GBA borders for the newer/alternate #GBA core on #MiSTerFPGA to include borders from user BearOnGuitar. They've added ten new designs which will show up when you run update_all on your machine. Check them out now!

06.01.2026 22:11 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Monster Party - A 1989 NES game released in the US by Bandai and developed by Shinsei. It has a whole host of strange boss fights which don't make much sense until you learn that they were meant to be parodies of famous pop culture, movie and folklore monsters. For the US release most of the monster sprites got replaced, possibly to stay clear of any risk of copyright infringement on popular IPs. Inexplicably the Japanese Famicom release with the monster parodies intact ended up being cancelled, leaving the US release as the only version known to the world until a Japanese sample cartridge was preserved and released to the public by MrMark0673 on 3 July 2014. In hindsight I'd say the US release is actually the more interesting game thanks to its additional quirkiness and lack of explanation behind the monster designs. The Famicom version feels a little more mundane in comparison but isn't short of bizarre creature designs either. Monster Party became a cult classic due to its strangeness and surprising amounts of blood for an 80s Nintendo game
For years I wondered what the dead boss in Monster Party for NES was meant to be.
The manual says it's a giant spider. Except it's not. It looks like a lizard.
Well, today I stumbled upon this: bogleech.com/halloween/ha...
The 1980s Gegebo Majuu (ใฒใฒใ้ญ็ฃ) toy figurines by Bandai.
I made some minor updates to the #nintendoDS template in my Github. The newer version is zipped and found here:

A friendly reminder that we have rear cartridge labels at diniertodesigns.etsy.com! We're always adding new stuff and we currently have rear labels for NES, SNES, and N64, in multiple colors and regions ๐
Oh and I'm adding a listing for Gameboy, and 32X labels as well!
An underrated film!
