Our October monthly meeting is upstairs at the Express Tavern by Kew Bridge station, from 7:30pm, Thursday 30 October. We will have guest speakers from Hounslow Council transport department to talk about cycling-related projects for 2026.

The reduction in casualties isn't surprising. Other locations where road space has been reallocated to protected cycle lanes have also shown safety improvements as it reduces exposure to the biggest danger - motor vehicles

Numbers of cyclists have increased almost 60% since 2019 so this represents a significant reduction in casualty rate. In 2024 there were no recorded pedestrian casualties as a result of collisions with cyclists.

DfT has published 2024 STATS19 road safety data. We looked at 15 yrs of stats #Cycleway9 section Chiswick High Rd & the great news is since C9 was completed in Jan 2023, overall traffic casualties are at the lowest level yet.
