If you book carefully, it doesnβt have to be. There was a Β£50 per person difference in price for the trip - but we reckon we saved most of that in the fact we arrived directly into the city centre, didnβt have to pay an extra bag fee etc.

This train is full of ordinary people making fantastic use of the 7 hours on a train:
- Finishing Christmas shopping
- Watching a movie or TV
- Listening to music & watching the view
- Working/studying
- Reading
- Chatting in the buffet car
Iβll never take a short-haul flight again βΊοΈ

It's amazing how much of a difference the congestion charge in Oxford has made. The roads are much quieter, it's so easy driving around the city centre now and being able to keep to time. My job has become less stressful.

UK faces βbattle for the soulβ of the country, says Starmer amid Reform threat

βLetβs call it for what it is: bullshit. The truth is, politicians have talked about little else but immigration for decades and in the most dehumanising ways.

Kids need freedom. Dangerous roads make it hard to grant it.
Bigger cars, distracted drivers and worried parents mean fewer kids are roaming freely.
The number of children injured or killed by cars while walking or riding a bike has fallen steadily since the 1970s, but CDC researcher note that this decline is not because streets are safer, but because fewer kids are out and about in the first place.

Pedestrian, 14, killed in village collision near Waterlooville
Hampshire police say a pedestrian and a car towing a trailer were involved in a collision on Monday.
Another child tragically killed by a driver who got behind the wheel under the influence of drugs/ alcohol.
We have technology to stop people driving in this state.
But as a society weβve decided such deaths are acceptable collateral damage from car-domination.
