Had to make a severe notch band in the EQ, and somehow that pushed the high moment to 14:49.some-milliseconds.

-0.71 dB now, so looking like a slight volume boost at the back end of the chain and a bit of fiddling with the master compressor attack time to zero in on -0.00.

Starting the track over because my peak so far was -0.6 dB, but I can’t remember where that happened… neat.

I hate being in the flight path for helicopters for both hospitals in town.

Thought something was *seriously* wrong with either my mix or my monitors just now.

Paused the playback and could hear the helicopter… and the walls shaking…

I spent like, 2 and a half days in Chicago a number of years back for a weekend music thing at Metro, and it was one of the coolest, chillest places I’ve ever been.

The wave sequences themselves, I expect, will be rather a bit simpler than what I usually build in terms of the length of the sample lanes, with complexity coming from elsewhere.

This is the track that I’ve had described to me - lovingly - as oppressive.

It still is that - which I need it to be - but I think of it as transferring that power and quality from the ultra-lows into the mids and higher frequencies.

They’re doing more interesting things anyway

Working on the master for the new blávik track.

A LOT of low-end information in this one. Usually I’m boosting those, minus the 20 Hz-and-below frequencies, but I’ve had to go pretty hard in the opposite direction on the final EQ of this song to get it shining properly.

This is some cool stuff and the visual aspect adds to the musical experience. Definitely recommend checking it out
