As long as people are stuck in car dependency without good public transport, those who should not be behind a wheel will be forced to resist rules to restrict them.

Sow stalls, battery cages, veal crates, hormone growth promoters, chlorine washed chicken are banned in the UK. Feedlots are widely used in the USA but not so common in the UK. Farmed animals are included in the UK animal welfare act, but excluded from the one in the USA.

An announcement on a UK and USA trade deal is expected today.

While the UK Government has said it will stick to its red lines on food safety standards - hormone beef and chlorine washed chicken - we are concerned that animal welfare standards could still be undermined.
