Although this week, I have 3 leetcode style interviews, which I’m terrible at even after 10 years. Something about being on camera in a web based editor without my vim key bindings just makes my neurospicy brain freeze up in that moment lol

Starting to see less leetcode style interviews for technical evals, which I think is a good thing. Every company I’ve actually needed to use DSA knowledge, I was at companies that didn’t test via leetcode. The ones that did, it was never truly used on the job lol.

Instead of trying to push for AGI we should first solve climate change, because the first won’t magically solve the second

This is the 3rd job this week a recruiter has reached out to me for where it’s less than what I made 10yrs ago as a junior developer in a LCOL/MCOL city… what is going on.

Meant that i noticed plenty of companies in rural areas (1.5hrs+ commute) outside of SD (some rural areas) offering really low wages in comparison to the cost to even live in some of those towns or even in the metro area.

Entry level network/sysadmin would probably be around 70k/yr min for someone with 0yoe and just certs, more for experience. I had friends from the military get 65-70k/yr entry level IT jobs in rural NE, IA, KS 10 yrs ago with 0 experience.

They mean, companies don’t want to pay the value they would get from hiring competent IT and developers. Noticed plenty of companies wanting to hire devs with bachelors and 8yoe, but only offering $25/hr. Noticed it in San Diego when I lived there, and it ain’t a cheap city to live in.

Yup. Been looking for the past 7.5 months and it seems you need to meet 150% of everything they’re looking for while also accepting 1/2 the salary.

Need to polish up the landing page with some images, animations and more information about what InterviewQuest is all about. But getting closer to launching https//interview.quest lol. Got a tight deadline that I promised to my girlfriend of releasing the beta by her upcoming bday 🤣

Might have to switch back to using goland / webstorm for FE work or actually put in the time to setup nvim correctly for vue lol.

I'm not sure exactly what it is, but using Zed lately feels extremely inconsistent when trying to type fast. My vim keybinds will sometimes do random things instead, hitting tab for the auto complete showing then output something completely different.

Now to finish a landing page, and finish some UI work for basic functionality and adding some polish. Probably need to add some tutorial for new users as well to explain the terminology and features.

Another rejection, but on the bright side I don’t have to rush into learning Rust anymore lol. I just want to get paid to write Go 🤣

It’s more backend, but maybe worth taking a shot at? I interviewed with the hm, and the team/company seem pretty chill. I don’t think I’m moving forward in the process, but I think you’d do better than I did lol.

I feel like I've been messing with trying to get auth working seamlessly way too much just to get my app out the door for my nuxt app lol. Some of it is probably user error, but I'm getting to the point where I might just write my own module to work with logto lol.
