TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:
"This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".

I watched it obsessively from the age of 11 - he is a legend.

That's lovely, my kids always choose things for a hamper for the food bank for Christmas but I think this year they'll do it between Christmas and new year to fill that gap between paydays.

Streeting is up there on my list of "despicable people"

I am beyond disappointed in an organisation I spent so long working for as a volunteer supporting both cis and trans kids to be part of our community - so so many of us are angry about this decision and I suspect they're going to lose a hell of a lot of volunteers. I am so sorry.
