To win a *legal* challenge against military occupation is a good thing. We both agree on that. But there are other kinds of challenges against it that are currently being made. All I'm saying is that sending cops to beat ppl engaged in *those* challenges isn't good. We need diversity of tactics

I think you're missing an important point: governors and mayors have well armed forces at their disposal that they can use to physically counter federal occupation. Directing those forces to instead beat the people trying to stop ICE undercuts those officials' public legitimacy.
