Grief is a funny thing. It comes in waves. One day you're "fine" then the next day you see a flower and feel your heart shatter all over again. What I can do right now is breathe, make some tea, draw another bath, let the feelings move through me, and then keep going.

Rounded a corner on my evening stroll tonight and saw this beauty, thought about how often people will express sentiments assuming that our lives are better for their not being a part of it, and immediately turned around to walk back home.

Today has been productive!

I have breakfast sorted for the next few days and prepped for a special dinner later this week with a lacto-ferment of fresh tomatoes and basil with garlic for a puttanesca with a fermentation zing! (Bonus: It's also easier on the tum.)

This is like something out of a dream! I want to wake in a remote cabin and open my eyes to enjoy this view. Then I want to intertwine my legs with the person next to me and hold them close while we take in the breathtaking beauty of this day.

Thank you for being the one to say it. I couldn't quite find the words, but I feel the same: seeing such a beautiful display of one person's love for their partner gives people like me hope that perhaps there IS someone out there and that one day we might get to enjoy being cherished that way.

It's only happened once and occurred for maybe 30 minutes in the wee hours. I've not seen anything of the sort since then. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Hopefully it's not a feature that they intend to add to the app! I agree- likes are better kept private. If someone goes out of their way to creep around, that's on them.

Weird! Months ago, I opened BS after talking with a friend and could see mutuals' likes (including his) in my feed. I was touched to see that he had offered undivided attention during the conversation so I extended my gratitude, which ended in his (understandable) concern and my feeling like an ass.

When several other guys he was with asked him for a shred of accountability for what was said, he dismissed the entire thing and avoided confronting the issue at all in favor of the distraction of basketball.
