I think really the story of the past ten years was people taking for granted 21st century liberalism was locked in and therefore you could just kinda be fashy for a laugh only to realize a moment too late Skinhead Steve wasnโt joking after all.
03.08.2025 19:36 โ ๐ 3327 ๐ 643 ๐ฌ 60 ๐ 41When the cryptocurrency entrepreneur Eric Schiermeyer heard that President Trump was holding small group dinners with major donors, he saw opportunity. Mr. Schiermeyer reached out to a lobbyist with connections in Mr. Trumpโs orbit, who arranged for him to attend a dinner with the president at his private Mar-a-Lago club on March 1 in exchange for donations to a pro-Trump PAC called MAGA Inc. totaling $1 million. The personal and corporate donations were among dozens of seven- and eight-figure contributions to MAGA Inc. from crypto and other interests revealed in a campaign finance filing on Thursday night that hinted at the access Mr. Trump accords those willing to pay. At the dinner, Mr. Schiermeyer, who had never given a federal political donation before, presented an idea for a cryptocurrency called โU.S.A. Tokenโ that would be distributed to every citizen, according to interviews and a flier he distributed to attendees that sets out details of the proposal. He hoped it could be su
Cryptocurrency interests, which have benefited from the Trump administrationโs dismantling of a yearslong government crackdown and from the Trump familyโs financial interest in the industry, appear to have been the most generous industry, accounting for nearly $45 million in donations to MAGA Inc.An affiliate of the exchange Crypto.com gave $10 million, while the crypto services company Blockchain.com donated $5 million. The venture capitalists Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz, who are heavily invested in crypto, gave $3 million each. Ondo Finance, which has a partnership with the Trump familyโs crypto company, donated $2.1 million to MAGA Inc., on top of $1 million to Mr. Trumpโs inauguration.
The scale of Trump's pay-for-access scheme outlined by the @nytimes.com is mindblowing. Crypto contributions resulting in business deals with the Trump family crypto businesses, oil companies buying influence and later reaping benefits from friendly policies, and a $1 million pardon.

As I said, to you Nazis are probably not a real thing because you didnโt grow up with personal stories of their rise to power, and what they did as they gained more power.
Nazis are getting fashionable again, and you have to stop them at the beginning vs once theyโre strong and established.
This also has direct parallels with what happened in Germany.
Look up Julius Streicher and how he used Der Stรผrmer to grow the Nazi party. It was a very modern approach, and very effective, and was also initially dismissed by people as harmless, the way you are dismissing this now.
The point is not whether you are personally seeing them.
Itโs that Nazis are getting paid to generate content and build a following, and now Substack is, according to this article, promoting them with push notifications.
If I subscribed to a newspaper that also monetized Nazis, Iโd unsubscribe.
Sorry, replied to you by accidentโmeant to reply to someone else!

31.07.2025 06:17 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0You moved here because of Musk, eg a political concern. The owners of Substack are monetizing Nazis and increasingly promoting them. Same type of issue.
It also happens to be a basket you might not want to have all your eggs in long term.
Anil Dash explains: www.anildash.com/2024/11/19/d...
Youโre writing this on a platform which people moved to from X, because X got filled with Nazis, and they started paying them as well.
Substack is simply at an earlier stage, but maybe we can learn faster this time around. This pattern is as old as the internet.
Iโve been online since the BBS era and have watched communities move time and time again. It takes a certain critical mass, following key figures, to do it.
Meanwhile my grandparents lived in Germany under Hitler, so I canโt think of Nazis as silly cartoon villains that one can safely ignore.
SCOOP: Substack sent a push alert promoting a Nazi blog.
The alert contained a swastika and prompted users to subscribe to newsletter featuring opinions and news important to the "white nationalist community." The most recent post was about the necessity of building a white-only America
The market can move. Especially since itโs possible to post the same thing on various platforms so your followers have the choice to follow you elsewhere.
The problem is Substack funds Nazis even if you donโt see them.
She responds to this aboveโright now she isnโt getting enough followers on Patreon to live on. So people who want her to switch entirely should also switch to Patreon
