Oh, God! The first year we bought one for family and one for ourselves. The family member we bought it for did the same thing and was going to give the 2nd one to us. We kept both and did one for advent and then started up again on the 1st of the year. So now, we do this every year

Oh, taking real Christmas trees down and outta the house is insane. Between boxing up the ornaments and then cleaning up those needles, no one is in a hurry to do it. My family was really big on Thanksgiving so any idea of Christmas before December 1 was damn near blasphemy.

Me neither. When I was a kid, ours didn't get decorated until, at the earliest, the weekend before Christmas and taken down well after New Year's Day. Usually it came down on the Epiphany. We definitely keep it up til the end of the 1st week of the new year.

I'd say Hochul is more in touch than either of the NY Senators and she's smart to distance herself from them.
