Fair enough- as the granddaughter of a Ukrainian immigrant, who barely survived WW2, I feel very differently. It feels like hostile erasure of my heritage. I do view Russia as an enemy in my mind. I guess for me rivalry implies casual, and for me this feels anything but.

If Ukraine gives up they may very well be erased. If Russia gives up, Ukraine will see peace once again. Words matter. 2/2

I do want to clarify that this is not all people that look this way, I have a guy I’ve known most of my life who looks like the right and is the absolute nicest human I know- but- if asked to distill based on a photo and choose? Idea of Personality wins over appearance for me every time.

I sat on this for a bit and have. Laundry list of whys- but the best summery I have is: the guy on the left will take out on a Five mile hike and stop and smile as you collect rocks and photograph moss, the guy on the right will challenge you to that same hike and mock you of you “can’t keep up”

So much of this. We just had our first child this past year after years trying. It made us hopeful we would try again even. But after all that played out since November? We’ve decided we’re officially done after one. Lack of affordable childcare, ever diminishing social safety nets, no time off…

It’s more then a little bit insulting that they think we are this stupid…
