Why the rush? Apparently, they wanted to publish their story before my Tuesday testimony in front of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. The story itself was a typical liberal-media hit piece that’s all too common nowadays. It seems as if the reporters decided what negative narrative they wanted to push, carefully cherry-picked their “reporting” to support that narrative, then ignored or minimized the facts we offered to defend VA. In this instance, ProPublica obtained some outdated reports from the internal system VA uses to quickly identify and fix issues across the department. ProPublica then used those reports to build a misleading case that our efforts to reform VA were causing massive problems.”
