James Clerk Maxwell told me he puts carrots in his Cornish pasties. I kneed him in the groin.

07.10.2025 21:10 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Denis Healey once mentioned how important it was for any politician to have "a hinterland" outside politics for when they inevitably get kicked out. He was a talented pianist and a writer. The 'hinterland' of politicians in our age appears to be grifting, grifting, grifting.
07.10.2025 20:54 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Phew, keep a low profile....check on the home brew etc.π

07.10.2025 19:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Didn't do himself any favours as was known to be dismissive with zero social skills. But he was almost certainly a deeply repressed gay man...and Thatcher made the most of all the insinuations and suspicions. He was pro-EU and hated Thatcherism...so have sort of "my enemy's enemy" views about him.
07.10.2025 19:16 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ahhhewwwurrrggh...not going there.
07.10.2025 18:33 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Arg.....that was Denis Healey.
07.10.2025 18:29 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0Yarwood did Ted Heath too...his laugh with shoulders going up and down. From a kid's perspective, I enjoyed his 3 day weeks and power cuts. Out would come the candles, the Camping Gaz lamp and Monopoly.....naturally it totally pissed off the adults.
07.10.2025 18:08 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0It was a bit shit.....hence closed. It was named after the 1970s TV series, before it was Cornwall Aero Park. We were endlessly dragged off to air shows as dad was obsessed. So mum would make pasties and flasks of coffee, then it was boredom for us until a Vulcan turned up (not Spock).
07.10.2025 17:05 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Dad took us to Flambards when we were kids. It was a theme park next to RNAS Culdrose air base in Cornwall. It closed last year.
