Lib Dems call for bank windfall tax to fund green energy home loans - BBC News Lib Dem deputy leader Daisy Cooper says bank profits could fund solar panels, heat pumps and insulation.

In my conference speech, I announced our @libdems.org.uk call for a new Energy Security Bank - funded by a windfall tax on big banks - to offer affordable loans for households, small businesses and community energy groups to lower energy bills.

The belated recognition of the State of Palestine by the UK was long overdue. Liberal Democrats have called for this many times, and it should have been done years ago, ideally around the time of the Oslo Peace Accord.
