Yeah, definitely adjacent!
It's just that to me pmd inherently comes with some specific worldbuilding that is non-existent in my pokemon story (guild/explorator system, the dungeons themselves, pokemon houses, complete lack of humans, etc), it's a lot more like the mainline games

So yes A*, my giratina, does meet Volo. My suicune and the other two beasts have the lore of the humans not liking them. And a lot of my pokemon have had encounters with humans, either positive or negative

One thing I find funny is that Echoglass (my main pokemon story) has a focus on the pokemon characters but it's not pmd
It's a common misconception and I often see people tagging it as such on tumblr BAHAHAHA not that I take any issues w/ that but yeah many humans have important roles in Echoglass
