DS2 is the closest we’ve even been to MGS6, imo

In many ways, Death Stranding is just more Metal Gear Solid, since Kojima got pushed out of Konami and lost control of it after MGSV. The story IS interesting, but you might need some glossaries/recap videos to really follow it 😂

(For the record, I DID squeeze all the gameplay I could out of DS1 before starting DS2 because I enjoyed it so much, so that’s absolutely a way to go if you’re liking it)

DS2’s opening sequence might be one of the best things I’ve seen in a game to date. IMO, once you have a feel for the gameplay and story premise of DS1, it’s not essential to play all the way through before DS2 unless you just want to squeeze all the story and/or gameplay out of the series.

For me it’s more of a vibes game. The story is meaningful, even in its obtuseness, but it’s the gameplay, graphics, and music that won me over. I’m half way through DS2 now and it’s so good. If you’re enjoying the gameplay of DS1, keep on keeping on.

I mean… kinda? But it’s a vibes game for me. If you’ve experienced Kojima’s past work, you’ll probably be able to track the story somewhat, if only because you’ll be experienced with just letting the weird wash over you 😅

Some more details: This is a “Gateway Mode” SDK (learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/...). It’s also a fairly basic first version supporting item CRUD, single-partition querying, and item patching. More features are on the roadmap, but feel free to file issues if you have specific needs!

FYI, due to a publishing bug, the `key_auth` feature that enables key-based auth did not get properly published in the 0.22.0 release. We’re working on fixing that right now and planning to release a 0.22.1 release with that fix soon!

This was a long time coming and we have released many unofficial crate versions with a lot of help from the community. We had to make some changes to align with our other languages' SDKs, but with @larryosterman.github.io, @analogrelay.net, and many others, this is our first *official* release.

But it also means building private accounts means the underlying protocol needs to be updated to support them, they can’t just add a switch to your account settings that changes how BlueSky handles your data, because your data also goes to every other app on the network.

In fact, the app I think you’re referring to (Flashes) isn’t actually built by BlueSky at all. That’s what makes BlueSky (and the “ATprotocol” it’s built on) so powerful. Anyone can build a social network on it, and posts, likes, comments, etc can flow back and forth freely.

It’s a limitation of the underlying protocol BlueSky is developing. A solvable one, but it’ll take more than just a new app :(. I’m sure it’ll get there eventually, I just wish it felt like it was a priority.
