A trio of heavyset brachiosaurs, long-necked herbivorous dinosaurs, stand almost fully submerged in a calm river. Their movement kicks up sediment on the riverbed, adding to the murkiness beneath the surface.
A tail-dragging brachiosaur with a muscular build ambles across a muddy shoreline, backed by a lush landscape with distant rolling hills. A pair of long-tailed pterosaurs soar overhead.
A slender, towering brachiosaur feeds from from a conifer, dwarfed by the colossal trunks of the surrounding trees. The forest floor is blanketed by ferns and saplings, all bathed in dappled sunlight.
Four towering brachiosaurs with svelte, graceful frames dance through the shallow surf, chasing each other playfully before a cloudy sky. Various pterosaurs flit about the giant dinosaurs, emphasizing their immense scale.

Papiliomaris kluessendorfae, first reported in 1985 as the Waukesha "Butterfly Animal", was recently described as a strange bivalved arthropod with three pairs of large, feathery appendages. Some reports indicate it could reach up to 20cm wide.

A photograph and a line drawing of a fossil crocodilian (Diplocynodon) curled up above its nest. The head is moderately long and somewhat blunt and the body curles around the animal so that the tail curves around the skull. The illustration highlights the presence of several eggs surrounding the fossil.
A happy day 2 of #Croctober (lets see how long I can keep this going)
Crocs are well known for their parenting, but did you know that we even have fossils of them on their nest?
This specimen comes from Germany and clearly shows a Diplocynodon mother that died on her nest

A slightly cartoony illustration of a Mirasaura sitting on a mossy tree branch. The lizard-like animal has a long snout resembling a bird's beak, large eyes and a massive crest on its' back somewhat resembling a birds' wing feathers, as if someone stuck an entire wader's wing into his back. The animal has large eyes and it looking behnd him at a passing dragonfly.
The Triassic was a time of weird reptiles of every description.
This is one of the more recent finds: Mirasaura from France. It's one of the drepanosaurs, an odd group of arboreal reptiles with superficially bird-like heads and, in some cases, equally superficially feather-like appendages.
