I am actually, legitimately surprised.

The cynic in me feels like the Court ruled this way just to maintain a very thin veneer of impartiality, and to expect some truly horrendous, blatantly partisan decisions very soon.

Now that I've looked it up, it was Colorado that drafted him, not Chicago, and he opted not to sign, instead pitching at U. of Washington.

Also discovered that 3 other guys from my high school have been drafted (2 before, and 1 after), but none of them actually went on to sign.

I don't want to take anything away from the Swiss men's #curling team, because they shot an amazing game.

But I absolutely couldn't make any sense out of what #TeamUSA was trying to do. The shot-making was already sub-par, but even the shot-calling was… befuddling.

The guy who was drafted stands out because in my home state (Montana), baseball isn't even a varsity sport in high school, so anyone serious enough to want to play competitively at that age has to rely on playing in the American Legion system, or spend a LOT of money to play on travel teams.

Who's the most famous alum of your high school?

One guy got drafted by the Chicago White Sox (didn't make it very far).

One girl (whom I had been friendly with in some community theater productions) was later arrested for breaking into a big movie star's house after she'd been stalking him.
