I wouldn't call this a victory. Murderers have not been prosecuted. Hundreds of people still missing in concentration camps. No apology. No recompense. No reform.
They just decided to move their domestic terrorism campaign to a different state for now.

I'll go even further: Any intellectual property product which is not available for sale at a market-competitive rate, should be considered free to take and copy.
If the creators have stopped accepting money for their work, then how can be it be illegal to share their work without paying for it.

Solar power is cheaper than coal per megawatts generated. Critics like to point out that solar is not constant, so it also needs expensive investments in battery capacity.
Counterpoint: The total system cost of coal includes trillions of dollars in environmental damage and deaths from air pollution

At this point we should also be actively hostile to any member of congress who has the power to see the unredacted files but has not. Americans demand truth and justice: get on the train or be left behind.

Why a passport? Unless other states are wildly different than mine you already need proof of citizenship to get a state issued ID card, and you need the state issued credential to register to vote

This is completely doable now with foldable displays. Honestly this would make more sense than the increasingly chunky and unpocketable "portable" devices that are currently on offer

Can it be considered axiomatic that 1) any genuine attempt to address climate change will not derive from fossil fuels, and 2) any attempt to prolong the use of fossil fuels is financially rather than scientifically motivated.

Yet, it is the processor's speed and how well it handles the insane bloat of the "Smart" operating system, that will touch every aspect of the experience of using the thing aside from the picture quality.

It's kind of weird really. When you buy a laptop PC or a desktop PC, the kind of processor it has is front and center because everybody knows at some level that this matters a lot. Yet when you buy a "smart TV", which is just a computer and display bolted together, the processor isn't advertised.

I don't think this holds much merit. If they were TRYING to make contact then they wouldn't use encryption. And even if they were encrypting, a signal of constant intensity and origin would show up as extremely anomalous and interesting even if we couldn't extract any content

The numbers I was seeing said that about 30% of the people picked up by ICE/CBP had legal problems, but the vast majority were for procedural issues related to their immigration while only 5% were for violent crimes.
Meaning the "public safety" aspect of what they are doing is 95% bullshit.

Adding pedals to this seems more like an attempt to redefine the vehicle as a bicycle thus allowing it to use bicycle lanes, than intended to be a real beneficial feature. In which case the entire thing seems doomed to be a temporary mutant in the time before bicycle lane laws are changed.

Why is anybody still listening to what this man says. He literally has brain damage due to age and stroke. He also thinks he has stopped 8 wars and that the election he won was stolen. These are not the views of a healthy person. He should be kept in a nursing home and away from sharp objects.

Honestly, to me this is a cautionary tale about the importance of not relying entirely on technology that you don't control. Starlink could shut off service to Ukraine just as easily, and is only the whims of a billionaire in another country that stops it. I would be reviewing backup plans.

To be clear, China is predominantly interested in this because it significantly reduces their vulnerability to sanctions against fuels imports. Locally produced energy is a strategic sovereignty issue. Other nations should consider this aspect for themselves as well.

It's kind of crazy how some games have WASD so firmly entrenched in the code that you can't actually rebind them properly.
