Would be miraculous to do so by then.
14.11.2025 21:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I missed the retreat, but noticed this gorgeous yet confounding workflow chart that tells me they aren't ready to 'grapple' for quite a while.
14.11.2025 18:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Mike McGinn frequently biked to work, so it seems quite possible for Mayor (elect) Wilson to ride public transit for certain nearby events, with the usual two or three SPD bodyguards alongside.
13.11.2025 22:33 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That's a safe bet
13.11.2025 22:27 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Here's one - the @wsdot.wa.gov just built a pre-emptive desire trail that will help some apartment residents in the northeast go more directly to a new light rail station to their southwest, in this southward looking image. (The walk is still not very pleasant, at wide I-5 access roads.)
13.11.2025 22:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Reminder: 1 Line announcement
On Sunday, Nov. 16, shuttle buses are replacing 1 Line service between Capitol Hill and Stadium stations. This all-day shutdown is for scheduled maintenance on the tracks.
Another story of on-demand transit (or "microtransit") hype. The cute and responsive technology works in a tiny rural town, so they propose to do it in the big city, where it will be overwhelmed. Big cities need big transit, not these distractions.

The engineers and planners make astounding sums of money during the futile planning process, not to mention outreach contractors. If we had a leaner project selection culture in the U.S., the "sunk cost" (psychologically more than $$) would be less of a drag on hard decisions.
11.11.2025 19:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When push came to shove, road projects got done under Mike McGinn and bike projects got done under Bruce Harrell.
11.11.2025 19:10 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Affordability isn't the goal, creating new financial products is the goal.
11.11.2025 18:12 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What do they do?

11.11.2025 16:40 β π 6 π 3 π¬ 1 π 0It wasn't on the Seattle Times front page because the paper goes out before 6 a.m. and the new vote counts aren't posted until after 4 p.m., or about one hour ago.
11.11.2025 01:13 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Reliability rates are around 97% in 2025, which is respectable performance. Downtown escalators used to be only 50% operable in 2020.
07.11.2025 19:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0A few years ago, I requisitioned an .xls of all the outages and found @soundtransit's summary reports to be generally on point. That's worth trying again in 2025.
07.11.2025 17:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That's an interesting point. We need to keep in mind that many of these outages are just somebody fooling around with the emergency-stop buttons that anybody can reach. Another cause is the occasional use of elevators as a toilet. "Environmental" can include rain flooding which is a design weakness.
07.11.2025 17:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I've read spreadsheets listing the individual incidents and they fairly well track what you see in the pie chart.
07.11.2025 17:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Toilet policy is still quite stingy overall. The upcoming Federal Way extension has loos at all three new stations, where you buzz to the security guard to unlock a door.
06.11.2025 23:27 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Sound Transit committee in session. Only 1/3 of escalator and elevator failures are mechanical, while most are from intentional or accidental customer damage.
06.11.2025 22:20 β π 13 π 1 π¬ 4 π 0The parks and transportation departments are still using them, so where exactly are my carbon taxes being spent?
06.11.2025 18:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One fourth of the population loses 2 lbs. That sounds like a reasonable guess.

The lights are still out, going on more than a year, at Judkins Park. This trail is heavily used by locals for recreation as well as a major connection in our regional transportation bike network.
