Spanish TV quickly forgetting the other three won in 1969 and moving on this morning 😂 🇪🇸

Spain’s decision not to broadcast 2026, puts them out of 2027 too, no? Or is that an old rule, or not applicable to Big5 members?

Although it may initially be about which countries withdraw, it’s worth remembering that the broadcasters who do go this year may face selection issues with a potentially smaller pool of talent to pick from.

I could see some entrants winning local finals and then not going to Vienna too.

I think this was well overdue. My pitch would have been to make (O) of the organisation’s logo an expressive character but it sounds like they are going to do similar with the heart.

Overall feel is very youthful - ✅ for their target audience, not sure what it says to target artists competing in it

Here’s a great bit of Eurovision technical knowledge…how do we see the UK number but in France they see something else? Tone is the answer.

Still slightly interested in how pared back the use of SwissTime (the italic typeface) became in the TV production.

Well a cracking show last night…obviously the non-Celine version?!

But honestly, I’m more confused about the winner now. UK…well actually ranking last places is more challenging and we’re in the fray there I think. Sincerely hope not though! Should be a good night for Germany & France.

I think if Sweden get anywhere near the top of the jury vote, it may well be over.

As ever, very credible challengers though and I’d be happy with either Austria or France taking the trophy

For those not watching the rugby, the ITV commentator did reference the crowd being whipped up by the French Eurovision entry being performed at half-time.

Remains to be seen if the audience will choose an entry like that, but the juries should reward it.

It lacks some of the vocal theatrics of Austria, but it’s a lovely entry. Quite an interesting battle forming in Basel now 🇫🇷🇦🇹🇳🇱. Personal fave is still 🇩🇪

Episode 4 of S3 of The White Lotus contains a cover of A-Ba-Ni-Bi, the 1978 Eurovision winner…but in Thai. Quite cool!

A little out of the loop because of family stuff but it feels like Melfest has been expecting a shock result for a while - probably a positive thing overall.

Contest feels like it’s Austria’s to lose now, although I wouldn’t rule out the Dutch or French. Germany may surprise ya know

Yea the title deffo hits the zeitgeist correctly in terms of Eurovision’s recent history, Europe’s recent history and this selection season’s history too. 😂
