Used to walk down to the offie shop in our local pub with my dad, and he would buy mum a bar of bourneville - she still likes dark chocolate at 96. And yup the big buttons are lovely!
04.10.2025 19:46 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I know I've asked this a few times recently but I've been very unwell for much of this year & am trying to get back on my feet again financially by teaching my workshops again alongside running my Etsy shop.
Please could you give my posts above/below about my workshop a RT if you have a moment?...๐ฟ
I defended Labour for 15 months.
Workersโ rights and rentersโ protections? Yes.
But cutting benefits, parroting Reform, and calling your own side โthe Leftโ as though youโre not? No.
Which is why Ed Davey and Zack Polanski have an opening Starmer is handing to them.
Me too - accepting the premise of the issue, that all problems stem from immigration, parroted by the worst people, has appalled us. The rw rhetoric has scared my family, and Labour's response of 'genuine concern' does not feel in any way reassuring.

24.09.2025 22:25 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Labour have branded Nigel Farageโs migration attacks "unfunded, unworkable and falling apart in real time." And the classic: "Unserious".
They seem very reluctant to say "immoral" or "wrong".

22.09.2025 12:59 โ ๐ 104 ๐ 12 ๐ฌ 10 ๐ 0Reform's โplanโ to revoke the legal status of millions of UK residents is morally abhorrent & economic madness
The public believe in fairness & mutual respect, not this cruel Trumpian policy that would leave us all poorer. We are not America - we must resist this dangerous turn in British politics.
Got a check up, hope doesn't happen in middle of blood test - or when i'm peeing in a cup - awks to arrive at gates spraying bodily fluids!

STATE/BANQUET How it glitters and shines, The Grand Service, among the rocks and the rubble, laid out on a breezeblock horseshoe table, six crystal glasses per setting. It took eight servants three weeks to polish - silver coated in a thin layer of gold - even the concrete dust in the air seems glamourised and the ruins are decked in the uplifting flags of democracy.
To start, fillet of Dover sole filled with salmon mousse, served on a bed of leeks with white wine sauce. Poached Sandringham venison with truffles to follow, then Key Lime Pie, and among the wines, Chateau Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, 1990. Yum-yum. Let the trumpets sound on the bombsite as the great and the good pick their way through, and a famished child peers through a bullet-hole in a wall.
This poem from Carol Ann Duffy hits hard.

Please... for the love of all that is good, do not share it on all your social media channels... because it simply wouldn't be done to remind the world of the association
Trump's not even brought the real Melania with him, that's one of the inflatable ones

14.09.2025 12:31 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Old Fox was trying to persuade Wolf to come out of the wardrobe, where he'd been hiding since listening to the news early that morning. I'm never coming out, shouted Wolf. Old Fox sighed & sat down on the rug, wondering whether to make some tea. He really didn't blame Wolf, it was all so desperately worrying, more so than it had been for years. For a grim, squalid tide of blood-soured ideology had seeped into the world, into bustling town and sleepy village and hamlet alike; a putrid, chlorotic groundwater which was rising unchecked and unmeasured, tainting all in its relentless path, claiming only the most vulnerable, only the weakest and the poorest for its wreck-wood and soil. We must be brave, we must speak up and we must hold fast, said Old Fox to himself finally, we must hold fast. And he got up and went downstairs to make Wolf a sensible cup of cocoa and some brown buttered toast.

"This is England 2025.
It starts slowly at first, then all of a sudden it just creeps up on you."
Horrifying account of a small town being overwhelmed by racists. It was never about protecting women and children.
