AI can do graphic design and is going to take all the design jobs! I don't know, every time I see a design job board it seems alive and well.

Just like Canva did, AI will empower non-designers to make mostly mediocre generic designs, but truly creative designers will always have a job.

"Everyone" is not a good target audience

For generalists who don't want to be an Octopreneur, here's an employment career path to make the most of your skills. Obviously this will vary widely but at each phase you will build upon the previous to:
a) stay challenged
b) add value to your organization
c) find meaning in your work

I've been spending time with retired people lately and I'm convinced the #1 driver of happiness in retirement is how well you dealt with anger, disappointment, and resentment over your whole life. Grumpiest retired people are still upset about things they never resolved earlier.

I'm looking into sales tax requirements for a new e-commerce store. What a nightmare! The US needs to make sales tax more uniform across the country, this is ridiculous.

I Mapped Out My Entire Life. It Was Unexpectedly Emotional. A look back on my life so far.

But if you do this, don’t just fill in the blanks. Do it with your spouse or kids or a close friend. Use it as a way to remember your life, the people you encountered, the places you visited, the children you birthed, and the precious moments that make up this crazy thing called life.

Tangibly recording what I did on an exact day years ago brought back a flood of memories. I’d love for you to map out your own life, and enjoy the magic of life affirming nostalgia. The Life at a Glance calendar is available until Jan 5 on @kickstarter.com (link in bio).

Here are the elements I mapped:

-Every birthday for 80 years
-My life in 3 major chapters: youth, adulthood, and the Octopus phase I’m in now
-Major life milestones: getting married, moving to California, etc
-Memorable travel experiences: Mongolia, Paris, etc
-Transitions: school and job changes

I mapped out my entire life. It was unexpectedly emotional.

It was an interesting exercise, to reflect back and see the actual day I did something rather than having it be a distant memory. I used the “Life at a Glance” poster I designed.
