The Music Man and West Side Story were the ways I found into musicals

I get this because I thought I hated musicals for most of my life. Then I figured out that I don't like Andrew Lloyd Webber and Stephen Sondheim (except for West Side Story) and in my lifetime they've been the most influential in that scene.

Rick went out of his way to literally fight fascism in Ethiopia and Spain and then it came and found him in Paris. Disillusioned and broken, he ended up in Casablanca, where the fight found him again. In spite of himself he rejoined the fight. It's an inspiring movie.

I just rewatched Casablanca again. Every time, it's wild to me that this movie's reputation mostly hangs on the doomed romance hook, but really the movie is mostly about how people (of privilege) respond to fascism and the different ways it breaks people.
