It’s technically interesting how they implemented it. Simpler than I expected, actually.

Bluesky explains it here. Essentially, it just uses DNS. It’s like posting a public sign that verifies that, at a particular [sub]domain, “Yes this user does indeed have this particular Bluesky handle”. 😊
