I felt like I *had* to get on Instagram again because of networking on productions/sets, etc. My rule is I only use it for the one thing - John Gholson: The Actor - and not family, friends, food, fun, thoughts, games, farts, arts, cats, or any other aspect of my life AT ALL.

I bring this up because 1. lol and 2. It’s been about 20 years and people still don’t know how RT works.

Guy on the radio said Rotten Tomatoes was “Siskel & Ebert. It’s a movie critic.” And furthered the too-common notion that the percentage quantifies how good a movie is (this movie is 80% good 🤡) and not a percentage of positive reviews (80% of critics enjoyed this movie).

It's one thing to have AI art in a movie or an AI ad for jeans or whatever. It's another thing entirely for geo-politics as we slip from post-truth rhetoric into not being able to believe *our own eyes.* Shit is about to get pretty dire, pretty fast, if we can't get in front of it.

Curating that art is still a valuable skill - those Fullwarp AI TikToks are the closest thing I've seen to actual nightmares and they *are* artistic and devised with purpose - but they literally couldn't exist without the work of others. They are hand-picked happy accidents formed by prompts.

AI media is not ever going away & it's only going to get less noticeable. My concern is not shoving the toothpaste back into the tube, but devising laws & mandatory labels that will tell people "this is fake toothpaste." And we need to do that shit fast and on a global scale (impossible? idk, prob).
