I am so thrilled to share the cover for THE WISE PICKLE, written by Sarah Howden and published by Tundra. This delightful story follows a pickle who mysteriously appears in front of a dry cleaner's, slowly desiccating and telling wisdom to animals.
Available June 2026.

Rain on the river by Jim Dodge.
So happy to share one of the funnest projects from last year. It is a cover from Chemical Society Reviews illustrating some of the unique features of transport through carbon nanotube channels.
The review article that accompanies the cover talks about the details. lnkd.in/gEisze_4

The Skyscraper to the Moon and How the Green Rat with the Rheumatism Ran a Thousand Miles Twice.
The Potato Face Blind Man sat with his accordion. And the old man had his legs crossed, one foot on the sidewalk, the other foot up in the air. The foot up in the air had a green rat sitting on it.
Molly Nilsson concert in Elsewhere.
She is so great!
Now that I started to draw my photos, I started taking different pictures. I am taking pictures of things that made me happy.
A stack of blinis, made from my great-aunt's recipe. A book that I accidentally discovered that is so weird and funny. A secret compartment in the wall in a supermarket.
Potato face blind man and a green rat from Rootabaga pigeons by Carl Sandburg.
Ok. I am getting somewhere. Not sure where yet.

September visual diary pages. While I contemplate the Potato face Blind man and the green Rat (from Rootabaga Pigeons by Carl Sandburg).

Decided to illustrate Rootabaga Pigeons by Carl Sandburg as a personal project...
Some projects flow, some projects feel like i am walking in a sandstorm trying to feel my way around, but my eyes and my ears and my sandals are full of sand. I have a lot more frustrated drawings in my sketchbook.
A is for August for Akira.

More and more.
Two pages with self portraits. Felt cute etc.
In second , Sima is so politely listening to me.
Also, discovered for myself Rutabaga pigeons by Carl Sandburg. It was love from first sight for me. Absolutely delightful and entirely bananas.

More August pictures.
Highlights include a concert by Gogol Bordello - so fun! A screening of a performance by Katheryn McGaffigan and also Kismet the cat being completely enthralled by the movie Flow. She watched it with us for an hour.

More favorites moments of August.
Going to see Susumu Shingu exhibit at @japansociety with a friend, finding good signs and graffiti around the city and watching rats playing in the subway.

August pictures...
Highlights include spending time on a lake with beloved friends, a chukar (a partridge native to Asia) walking into Home Depot and a happy young woman in a beautiful red dress in a subway. I love watching people in subways (and everywhere else).
