Yes it's alarming that the DOJ has been weaponized by Trump. But this push to investigate is also vague, reactive and predictable. Trump is just firing a howitzer up in the air at nothing-- and guess where the shells will land?

What really sells this zombie comedy, which is so sharp it almost overwhelms the whole film. If you see a character alive at the beginning, you'll see them again later, undead. And yes, it's a film about choosing a path towards personal growth, which is very odd. #yabtm

Alfred Hitchcock's follow-up to PSYCHO, THE BIRDS was almost as popular. He does something interesting here: He gives us two reasons for the massive bird attack. One is unexplained, the other is supernatural. #YabtM

These MAGA clowns will be blaming Biden for everything until the sun swells into a red giant and swallows the earth. And they’ll blame him for that too.

Hey, he's gotta protect der Volk. After all, "Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Trump," right?

I see Greg-o dressed in his "TAC Squad" costume today. I suppose it's better than his "Third Reich Oberst" greatcoat costume.

Don't get too attached, Donny. When you're gone that monstrosity will be ripped down and all that cheap gold crap on the walls will be auctioned off as souveniers to sad old MAGAs waiting for the Second Coming of Cheeto. Auction proceeds going to the "fix what Trump broke" fund.

I guess SOMEONE had to spear-point the "Actually it's called Ephebophilia" push. They probably picked Kelly 'cos of how repugnant this sounds coming out of the mouth of a man.

I’m reminded of when the ACA first rolled out, how most Southern states rejected the program.
Those who held power over former Confederate states knew exactly who was β€œundeserving” of subsidized healthcare, and were wiling to opt out everyone so they wouldn’t get it

And boy oh boy he is correct. When that last cheeseburger finally finished its job, MAGA has nobody to replace him. Nobody.
A cult of personality quickly collapses when the personality is goneβ€” and his slimy narcissism is so unique it’s not replaceable.

The "actually it's ephebophilia" gang will be speaking up soon. You can set your watch to it

Yes, but Nancy Mace is not an emotionally stable person. I would not trust anything she had to say.
As it is, what she says barely makes sense. "As a survivor, I find the effort to make abusers accountable for their crimes abhorrent." Huh?

They're probably using the video wall of the Situation Room to display which GOP pols they plan to threaten and intimidate

This is why Dems should be trying to flip a few GOP pols to the Dem side. Offer 'em anything, pay for their campaigns. It's coming to the point where to sticking with the GOP is a moral hazard. I'm sure there are some Blue state GOPers would enjoy town halls where they won't be yelled at.

Not really. I have noticed in my neighborhood there's still heavy use of grocery delivery service and Door Dash food delivery among families I am certain cannot actually afford it.
There's still a weird "let Le Bon Temps Rouler" attitude out there. I don't understand it

Pretty much. Last time there was an honest report on the issue it was found that spending among the wealthy is way up, while spending among the working class / poor is way, way down

That's good, 'cos that's insane. If I had a 15-year loan for the Mazda5 I bought in 2010, I'd just right now be celebrating paying off memories, 'cos that got turned into a cube like 4 years ago

Every Friday I think "I have no idea how long Trump is gonna be able to lie his way though another week."
Come Monday, it's "Whelp, he apparently ain't done yet."

AFAIK 40-year mortgages are extremely uncommon, almost unheard of. A 50-year mortgage is longer than the remaining lifespan of most buyers.
Unless it was coupled with extremely low interest, a 50-year is basically renting the house from the bank.

Not confirmed, but I've read he wears an entire upper dental plate. He allegedly burned a hole in his soft palate through years of coke use.

that would be extremely useful. It's been a year and most Dems are still mostly reactive, a range from effective (redistricting) to feckless (strongly worded letters).
A unified 2028 manifesto that matched P2025 would be a great tool to get everyone rowing in the same direction.

No shit.
I think many employers wield health care coverage over their employees to retain them. This shit is expensive: it's like renting a helicopter to keep an eye on your dog.
Single payer would create a huge wave of entrepreneurs too. People would be secure enough to try new things.

Single-payer is the ultimate trust fall for the government & medical & insurance industries. I don't see it happening until the last of the far right has been beaten into submission.
They fail to realize is single payer removes employers from the process, good for them and employees alike.

I had the feeling all the Nazis and Fascism-lovers out there were just biding their time until the Greatest Generation fell out of power and died. That way they could spring their shit on us and not be immediately met with moral outrage. They are able to get a toehold now...

2. This is being pitched as some sort of tariff windfall bonus. This makes his goals clear: Trump imposed tariffs just to bully other countries. He does not know or care who actually pays them.
It's like a schoolyard bully who takes your lunch money & throws it away. It's about the bullying, period.
