Am playing Ghost of Tsushima again and now that I’m in the third act I’m reminded of one of my few criticisms of the game: the change of biome to frozen and snowy. I’m sure they felt they had to do this cause “this is what open world game do,” but it’s kinda dumb.

One of my favorite bits from Make Some Noise. At the end, the subtitles say “save” but I’ve always heard it as “serve”, as in “Willy Wonka does a service for children — making candy.” This is a point of contention between me and my partner.

I majored in missing the point in high school. And was about to major in it in college, but after Mr. Hall’s critical reading class (thank you Mr. Hall, wherever you are) in the first semester of sophomore year I switched majors. Still miss the point here and there.

Yeah. I have this with meals as well. I end up having to skip a couple weeks in a row cause I didn’t get to all of them. And I’m in the lowest plan.

Oh my god! The episode of Cloudward, Ho! with Murph as The Max (a gentleman fister) at the fighting ring. Murph is in his element and the way Emily Axford is looking at him…swoon (I know they’re married). Such a great sequence.

Oh my god, yes. This. Just say it’s arriving soon or something vague. At least I’ll be surprised when it does show up rather than constantly disappointed by your company’s inability to track a package.

More “annoyances in job applications” grousing: if you require me to upload a resume and cover letter and THEN ask me to fill out a form to duplicate the information on the documents I just uploaded, I’m gonna be annoyed. Why do companies do this?

Just had a phone interview for a software job (yes, I’m looking for something new…need a Ruby dev?) for a company that does contract work. Seemed to be going well until the end when “the contract is with DHS Citizenship and Immigration Services.” Um, yeah, no I don’t wanna work for those fascists.

Tonight’s music playlist has gone Black Sabbath (a mix of songs) -> Neutral Milk Hotel (In the Aeroplane Over the Sea) -> Radiohead (the 01-10 mix)

It is super annoying when a company you applied to schedules a phone interview and then ghosts you.

What sucks about being in newsrooms where this is being slipped into the news flow is having zero say it how it is being insisted upon us. It’s the labor issue of our time, and the time to pushback against it is now.
