Yes. It is. The issue is I'm not sure if it will be covered with this.

Pretty sure either the house or somewhere very close to it was hit by lightning. The outlet charging my phone sparked—I was holding my phone at the time, felt a slight shock, and dropped it. Our internet is completely out. I was on the phone with Spectrum troubleshooting, and they’re sending a tech in the morning. They believe the lightning strike may have fried the lines. The 3-month-old TV is showing it has power but won’t turn on. It had a direct ethernet connection in the back. Brandon is heartbroken—he saved and saved for that TV. Unfortunately, the cost is less than our homeowner’s insurance deductible, so we’ll most likely have to replace it ourselves. My PC powered on and booted up normally, but I’m not sure yet if the ethernet port is damaged. Same with Brandon’s. We won’t know until the internet is back. Thankfully, there’s no visible damage to the house. We didn’t lose power. We checked the roof and walked the exterior—no scorching, burns, or melted areas. Everything looks normal. I still saw clients today using my Chromebook and a Wi-Fi hotspot on my phone. I’m just overwhelmed. 🫠

It's been a long week. The internet tech comes out today to see just how fried things are. The folks I talked to yesterday think the strike fried the lines. Brandon is heartbroken over the tv. I'm gonna see if the tech can look at it and see if he has suggestions since internet went direct into it.

Friends, For the past 30 years, Table of Hope has had a food pantry. We serve on average, 5000 people per month. The vast majority of those folks are over 65 or under 12. We have grown too large for our building and can not continue working with the building we have. We have had to make the difficult decision to close the pantry. July 1st will be our last day of service. The only way forward is a space that is all on one level, 3000 square feet or more, and affordable. ( like under 2,000) If you are a client...thank you for sharing your life with us. You have been a blessing to each of us. If you are a person with a building to give...call me! If you are just a friend of mine who is reading this post...remember all the folks who need the pantry. Any way you look at it adding 5000 people a month to the roles of the hungry, will strain the system. My heart is breaking as my tears are hitting my phone, and we don't have a choice. Table of Hope is a MCC founded LGBTQ+ affirming church in Wichita, KS. It was my community placement in graduate school- where I did free community based therapy. They have a massive food pantry and they have outgrown their space. If anyone knows of a wearhouse PLEASE reach out to them.
