Have you seen the series Occupied? 🇨🇦 Feels unpleasantly like Norway getting “invaded” by Russia up here these days. Caught as we are between Trump and Putin. Sitting on an abundance of natural resources… if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. Rough times ahead. Collective action essential.

The times we’re in, with Trump’s “51st state” talk and a Russian mood of devil-may-care expansionism, have me thinking it’s high time I rewatch “Occupied”. Canada’s resources make us highly vulnerable to the kind of silk glove invasion depicted in the series. Gulp.

A good, workhorse building we should build more of: Either 12 units for singles or 6 family-sized units. Everyone gets a balcony. Easily fits on a standard 5,000 square-foot lot. Fits around six parking spaces in the back. And yet, illegal to build in the typical US residential neighborhood.
