Why Did Indiana University Axe Its Award-Winning Print Newspaper? If the administration can censor the Indiana Daily Student--one of the most acclaimed student publications in the nation--then student journalism everywhere is at risk.

Administrators reportedly told the student media director that the IDS should publish special editions of the newspaper containing no news. “How do we frame that,” asked one assistant dean, “in a way that's not seen as censorship?”

Remembering GABA pioneer Edward Kravitz The biochemist, who died last month at age 92, was part of the first neurobiology department in the world and showed that gamma-aminobutyric acid is inhibitory.

Edward Kravitz, a Harvard biochemist who proved GABA's inhibitory power, passed away last month. He will "be remembered for his humanity, for his social conscience and his desire to help those less fortunate than he,” says Ronald Harris-Warrick.

I’m against all political violence. The assassin should be tried and imprisoned. But kirk did not “practice politics the right way”. He invited violence against LGBTQ and other folk. He doxxed faculty to silence speech.

After yesterday’s SCOTUS decision, everyone knows the answer to this question:

“Would I have maintained a cowardly silence if I had been in Germany when the Nazis began chasing, harassing and detaining people for looking or being Jewish?”

Oh, such an interesting thought! That episode rubbed me the wrong way, and you have put words to what bugged me.

This is despite continued use of multiyear funding. My estimate is the multiple funding has blocked the awarding of ~1500 grants, had grants been funded on the usual annual basis. This includes 4-year R01s, excess 2-year R21s, and other awards.
