Days Jawn By: Black Cat-aptations — Moviejawn
by Clayton Hayes, Staff Writer There's a good amount of uncanny atmosphere but, at its heart, "The Black Cat" is more a polemic against the evils of alcohol than anything else.
Edgar Allan Poe's "The Black Cat" has been popular movie fodder for over a century. It was first adapted in a German silent film anthology released in 1919 and the latest adaptation was in Dario Argento's Two Evil Eyes (1990).
@helloitsclayton.com talks all about it here!

Why the FUCK have I been forced to listen to the Manfred Mann cover of "Blinded By the Light" all my life when the Springsteen original exists?

Mostly this all seems like a compelling argument for ceding the US in its entirety back to native populations

The fact that this doesn't seen to be widely understood, especially by academics (critical thinking is supposed to be their job!), is baffling

And, to paraphrase a colleague, the "AI" label gets slapped onto plenty of things that have been around for years
06.05.2025 13:46 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0
I've said it elsewhere, but "AI" is a marketing term with no real meaning that gets applied to anything vaguely algorithmically driven
