A nonprofit is using AI agents to raise money for charity Tech giants like Microsoft might be touting AI β€œagents” as productivity-boosting tools for corporations . But a nonprofit is trying to prove that agents can be a force for good, too. Sage Future, a 501(c)(3) backed by Open Philanthropy, launched an experiment earlier this month tasking four AI models in a virtual environment with raising […]

This cannot be said enough. Not only are 8/10 charity leaders concerned about how they will absorb the additional costs, they’re spending extra resource re-budgeting against the clock. Ultimately, this impacts those people and communities the charities exist to serve.

Another charity hit hard by the employer national insurance rise but it will be in very good hands with James Watson-O’Neill at the helm.

Many old local BBC news reports had it right at times. I watched one recently about a London family preparing for Diwali in the β€˜70s. It was educational, community-centred, connecting. How sad that such direct and honest (pure and simple?) reporting now mainly dwells in old archives, feeling quaint.

The notion of β€˜journalism as a social service’ is long overdue. As a pillar of democracy, it has be about the people, community, social purpose, not just state interest and profit agenda. Journalism & media strayed too far b/c the mission became money and big influence/agenda, conflict, division.

β€˜Our process was to radically reverse the process, starting with the screen-reader experience... This not only helped to leap to good accessibility results, but also naturally distils down the content effort.’ Interesting learning for charities stepping into digital transformation projects in 2025!

Meet the new metrics, same as the old metrics "It won't be long before AI is used to generate new metrics and new analysis, and to push user behavior further away from curated editorial experiences."

"Large language models enabled tech companies to imagine media distribution with even fewer people involved. AI will soon replace older feed algorithms and threatens to further weaken the role of editorial judgment in online publishing," @margarita.bsky.social writes.
