This is predicted to be one of the most damaging windfarms for birds we are aware of anywhere on the planet.

We support nature positive offshore wind, but this isn’t it. It’s a disaster in the making.

The illegal killing of our beautiful birds must stop.

It’s good to see MPs will be debating this urgent issue on Monday.

Thank you to everyone who's spoken up so far. We’re close to getting the change our upland wildlife needs.

A headline from The Guardian reads: β€œFund for nature-friendly farming to be slashed in UK spending review.” Below it, a line of bright green tractors ploughs wide, bare furrows into a large field. The image underscores the scale of UK farming and the warning that vital support for restoring nature is about to be cut.

The warning couldn’t be clearer. ⚠️

Slashing the nature-friendly farming budget would be catastrophic for the nature and climate crisis, and for our long-term food security.

What's more, it would leave the UK Government’s credibility on climate and nature in tatters.

Help stop the Planning and Infrastructure Bill tearing up nature protections I've written to my MP to demand that the UK Government adopts a nature-friendly approach to planning and development. Will you take action too?

We’re calling on everyone who cares about nature: write to your MP now.

Show them we won’t stand by while vital protections are ripped up: action.rspb.org.uk/page/159517/...

A European Starling perches on a sheet of rusted, corrugated metal, beak wide open in full cry. Its glossy, speckled plumage catches the light against a blurred, burnt-orange backdrop. The bird appears mid-shout - a wild, urgent alarm from nature.

We’re not alone. We & the @the-wildlifetrusts.bsky.social are united in calling for Part 3 to be scrapped.

Keir Starmer, Rachel Reeves, Steve Reed, Angela Rayner, @matthewpennycookmp.bsky.social

The choice is yours.

And it will be remembered by the millions of us who care about the natural world.

Screenshot of a Guardian news article with the headline: β€œWildlife charities urge Labour to scrap β€˜licence to kill nature’ in planning bill.” The subheading reads: β€œConservationists say part of bill allowing developers to avoid environmental laws by paying into nature fund should be ditched.” Below, a protest photo shows handmade signs in woodland. One reads β€œBAT FACTS – 14 species of bat in Buckinghamshire. Bats are the only mammals that can fly.” Another says β€œFAT CATS KILL BATS” in bold letters. The image underscores public anger and the scale of opposition to the proposed Planning Bill.

Labour promised to restore nature. ❌

Instead, their Planning Bill contains a licence to destroy it.

We offered solutions. We’re done waiting.

Part 3 of the Bill would gut the laws protecting our most precious habitats & species.

Without significant change, it must be scrapped.

This is a close-up photo of a green bush-cricket, perched on a green plant stem. The insect is facing away from the camera, showing its long, slender antennae, green textured body, and spindly legs. The background is softly blurred with green leaves and a light brown hue, highlighting the insect in sharp focus. The overall composition and detail give a vibrant and naturalistic look at this small insect in its habitat.

This is a close-up photo capturing a flying Bee-fly in sharp detail against a beautifully blurred background. The insect is known for its fuzzy body, long proboscis, and hummingbird-like hovering flight. Its body is covered with fine, golden-brown hairs, and it has large wings that are blurred from motion.

The background has a smooth gradient from dark green to black with a prominent circular yellow blur, possibly a distant flower.
