Itβs good to see MPs will be debating this urgent issue on Monday.
Thank you to everyone who's spoken up so far. Weβre close to getting the change our upland wildlife needs.
The weatherβs always great.

04.06.2025 06:45 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A headline from The Guardian reads: βFund for nature-friendly farming to be slashed in UK spending review.β Below it, a line of bright green tractors ploughs wide, bare furrows into a large field. The image underscores the scale of UK farming and the warning that vital support for restoring nature is about to be cut.
The warning couldnβt be clearer. β οΈ
Slashing the nature-friendly farming budget would be catastrophic for the nature and climate crisis, and for our long-term food security.
What's more, it would leave the UK Governmentβs credibility on climate and nature in tatters.

A European Starling perches on a sheet of rusted, corrugated metal, beak wide open in full cry. Its glossy, speckled plumage catches the light against a blurred, burnt-orange backdrop. The bird appears mid-shout - a wild, urgent alarm from nature.
Weβre not alone. We & the @the-wildlifetrusts.bsky.social are united in calling for Part 3 to be scrapped.

And it will be remembered by the millions of us who care about the natural world.
Screenshot of a Guardian news article with the headline: βWildlife charities urge Labour to scrap βlicence to kill natureβ in planning bill.β The subheading reads: βConservationists say part of bill allowing developers to avoid environmental laws by paying into nature fund should be ditched.β Below, a protest photo shows handmade signs in woodland. One reads βBAT FACTS β 14 species of bat in Buckinghamshire. Bats are the only mammals that can fly.β Another says βFAT CATS KILL BATSβ in bold letters. The image underscores public anger and the scale of opposition to the proposed Planning Bill.
Labour promised to restore nature. β
Instead, their Planning Bill contains a licence to destroy it.
We offered solutions. Weβre done waiting.
Part 3 of the Bill would gut the laws protecting our most precious habitats & species.
Without significant change, it must be scrapped.

The insect is facing away from the camera, showing its long, slender antennae, green textured body, and spindly legs. The background is softly blurred with green leaves and a light brown hue, highlighting the insect in sharp focus. The overall composition and detail give a vibrant and naturalistic look at this small insect in its habitat.

The insect is known for its fuzzy body, long proboscis, and hummingbird-like hovering flight. Its body is covered with fine, golden-brown hairs, and it has large wings that are blurred from motion. The background has a smooth gradient from dark green to black with a prominent circular yellow blur, possibly a distant flower.
