The most charitable people tend to be is "oh let's give them stuff." More often people give to the homeless for themselves, not because they care about the people they're claiming to help. How many of them would stop to have a conversation with a homeless person? Very few, in my experience.

As a chronically homeless person of 20 years you can tell those people I think they're disgusting. In a society geared towards dehumanizing those homeless offering us a way to exercise our rights is one of the kindest things you can do, even if the person doesn't want it. You SAW them.

The problem with pre-ordering from major studios though is it tells them they're guaranteed a certain number of sales, so their strategy shifts from "release a finished product" to "how unfinished can we release this to save on development cost"
