We also identify product and category moderators that make these effects stronger or weaker. One favourite finding is that absence claims can still work, but only in categories where there’s fewer of them. So, low fat yoghurt is not special, but low sodium soup is.(3/3)

In a nutshell, we show that presence nutrition (e.g. high in fibre) increase SKU choice on average, but absence nutrition claims (e.g. low fat/sugar) decrease choice. Both claim types do impact quantity purchased however. (2/3)
