My deepest take, a rather new one, is that the specialization of modern society both creates and requires ignorance of... a lot.

The millennial experience is growing up with the internet, and watching it go from a free, open, democratic, and eclectic ecosystem to a wasteland of five websites controlled by billionaires, and now seeing it quickly fill up with AI-generated slop.

YouGov 2022 poll results for American’s estimates of various group sizes as a proportion of the US population vs the actual numbers.

Beginning to understand why so many Americans are obsessed with trans issues and panicking about being replaced. They think there are 21x more trans people, 27x more muslims, 15x more jews, 5x more asians, 3x more black people, and 2x more immigrants than there actually are.

I've never more strongly agreed with an article.

It's definitely a sign

The willingness to shed your self-doubt in those situations is IMO one of the most important things you need to actually make the upset
