Gosh darn it, now I woke up too early and can't get back to sleep and my subconscious's crappy understanding of geography and transit isn't useful to anyone and I didn't even mark the existing Kingston station or Parkes correctly.

I guess the idea was that you'd take it if you accidentally find yourself stranded in Sydney without a way back home booked, which in real life wouldn't happen except for deliberate budget hacks, but I get dreams where I'm accidentally stuck in Sydney and need to get home sometimes

Also, there was a regular scheduled bus that you didn't have to book which went all the way up to some very southwest Sydney suburb (Douglas Park?) and then you could just go the rest of the way normally. The last bus out of Sydney left at 2:50pm and arrived here 6pm though so it wasn't very useful.

It was marketed as some kind of "heritage discovery" / sightseeing thing. I guess if that's how you get the NCA on board, sure. Also I think it had other stops on the way to Tasmania but I didn't see that far, it's just how far the line went.
