Briefly skimming his Bsky, I think he's just like, a generic straight white liberal guy. Maybe was a little bit of an outcast in school, but managed to break away from that in adulthood, and thus associates things like fandom as immature. I don't think his skeet was malicious so much as off base.

Like, I get it, fandoms are SO ANNOYING, especially from the outside.

But what he's not taking into account is the community, the connections, the real, tangible relationships sparked from the ember of a common interest.

A "fandom" extends far beyond the source and becomes something all its own.

This is so funny to me because the very best part of being grown is embracing cringe and letting the soft animal of my body love what it loves.

My main hobby? Traveling to various fandom events up and down the west coast to visit the enormous friend group I made through said fandom.

I mean this like in a sexy way, not as a violent threat.

Although, if it was a fanfic, it would be both.

He does sound like he needs someone to put him in his place.
