back in the mid-00s someone took a bunch of reba jams and pasted them back-to-back-to-back-to-back and it blew my 20-something year old mind wide open. reba just jams? yes, please!

leatherback from eggy burlington show that just hit nugs is *super* thanks to gibb droll on guitar and john mailander on fiddle adding noisemakers magic. parceled serotonin that follows (only third time played) goes hard; that song is like shatter in that it seems to have a jam built into its DNA.

both of these live thelonious albums were recorded the same night in 1958 after monk (finally) got his cabaret card back and could perform again in nyc. all but one of the twelve tracks on the originally-issued albums are his own compositions.

and this parceled serotonin reaches exceptional intensity for a handful of minutes. there's something about jam bands named eggy absolutely crushing it every time they play burlington.
