Hold on, please clarify if these are different people or it's just a different title?

Hold on, please clarify if these are different people or it's just a different title?
18.10.2025 02:17 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Maybe this Santos guy is in the files too?
18.10.2025 00:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What sort of soldering are you planning to do? For electronics you'd usually prefer one that's temperature controlled (which the really cheap ones usually aren't). It's a LOT easier to solder when the iron behaves consistently, so a really cheap iron might just cause a lot of frustration.
17.10.2025 20:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is certainly going to happen considering US is a permanent member with veto powers.
17.10.2025 03:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I find it plausible that this ability to learn many things very quickly (ie. without thousands of repetitions) is very much related to our ability to reason and the "learning problem" needs to be solved before there is any hope of emerging intelligence with AI models.
17.10.2025 02:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It is also important to remember we do not truly understand how humans actually learn. "AI training" is mostly a bruteforce gradient search to fit a function (=weights) to data, but it is fundamentally at odds with the ability of humans to immediately learn from one or very few novel instances.
17.10.2025 01:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0For what it's worth, personally I usually try to add some sort of commit message (often I commit from command line and "git commit -m 'fix the thing'" skips opening an editor for the commit message, so it's a "win-win situ") but I'd rather still take a bunch of 'update' commits over one big squash.
17.10.2025 01:14 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Pretty much nothing is worse than a huge commit that changes a dozen entirely unrelated things, because that basically takes away the whole point of having version control in the first place.
17.10.2025 00:46 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Having separate changes as separate commits on the other hand is highly valuable, because it allows you to test which specific change broke things, or perhaps roll back specific changes, etc. Often it even makes sense to break one set of changes into multiple commits just to keep them separate.
17.10.2025 00:45 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The idea of squashing commits due to lack of commit messages is the most stupid idea ever. The real value of a commit is in the diff, not the description and usually to find the important commit you'll have to look at the diffs anyway, so the most the messages can do is help narrow down the search.
17.10.2025 00:40 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I have to point out that nice touch choosing the environment for this speech.
16.10.2025 23:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm actually afraid that US support for Ukraine ultimately relies on what happens in US domestically. If the regime manages to establish itself, then I just don't see why they wouldn't fully befriend Russia; right now they still can't, as they still need to worry about domestic pressure a bit.
16.10.2025 22:22 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0No disagreement here. π
16.10.2025 22:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well, MAKS doesn't comment much in general. Personally I interpreted the βΌοΈ as displeased though. That said, I do fear those not following the US domestic situation might not be aware that Trump is trying pretty hard to become the "Putin of USA" and likely only cares about UKR for personal gain.
16.10.2025 22:05 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Trump is obviously flip-flopping and perhaps trying to play both sides, but I think there's still value in reporting what he says at any given moment. I don't think we should shoot the messengers.
16.10.2025 21:55 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think the first part about sanctions probably refers to this:
16.10.2025 21:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Kate at least is reporting on the "truth" where he talks about a great conversation, here:
16.10.2025 21:48 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Come on, don't shoot the messenger. MAKS is just reporting.
16.10.2025 21:24 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Serbia sure. Bulgaria on the other hand is an EU country and not particularly friendly to Russia. Probably better chance reaching Serbia through Montenegro, or maybe even Albania.
16.10.2025 21:19 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Anyone else read this as basically saying: "If Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza [...] we will have no choice but to go in and kill [the people in Gaza]."
16.10.2025 18:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Apparently in Russia the Swan Lake is strongly associated with political unrest and deaths of leaders, so the song should probably be understood as pretty clearly asking for Putin's death.
16.10.2025 16:07 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0How about: President Trump on Wednesday signs a memo that declares him King Trump I.
16.10.2025 00:42 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Using the bodies of a bunch of already dead people as an excuse to kill yet more innocent civilians is ... pretty low.
16.10.2025 00:39 β π 11 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Israel continues to restrict aid entering Gaza says Hamas has not met its end of deal to release all bodies of captives.
16.10.2025 00:30 β π 86 π 71 π¬ 11 π 9That's 2016 data on Wikipedia so things might have changed somewhat, but I'd imagine it's probably still similar enough.
15.10.2025 23:20 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well, apparent apparently oil is just 1% of electricity. Gas is 48%, nuclear 18%, hydro 17%, coal 16% and the rest are marginal. I guess Ukraine's also hitting some gas refineries, but the situation with oil is likely much worse.
15.10.2025 23:19 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0That said, the train itself doesn't help much if you have no logistics at either end of the railway because all your trucks are out of diesel.
15.10.2025 22:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Wikipedia gives 2023 data as 105,000km total, 54,054km electrified (51.48% electrified), but the page on Soviet Railways suggests that already in 2008 about 85% of freight traffic was electric, which suggests all the most important routes are electric (which makes sense cost-wise).
15.10.2025 22:32 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'd go with something popular as this makes easier to get different or replacement tips. Hakko is pretty popular as "serious hobbyist" brand if within budget. Pinecil often gets recommended as an USB iron, but personally not a huge fan of those. Weller's budget model is somewhat popular too I think.
14.10.2025 21:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'll let others make recommendations, but a proper temperature controlled iron/station is a lot easier to solder with. Those usually come with some sort of general purpose tip for electronics (eg. cone, chisel, whatever) that's usually more or less ideal for 0.1" pitch.
