03.12.2024 03:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Even a regular podcast update makes me feel "Uggh, I don't have time for this but I have to listen because I never miss an episode"... when they drop an unrelated episode it feels even more stressful because the people I silently pledged to pay attention to are now saying to pay attention to others.
03.12.2024 02:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I always struggled with a good gender neutral group pronoun. I alternate between "y'all" (I am originally from Texas) and "comrades". I do like using "comrade" as a catch-all pronoun when I'm unsure of or worry that I've forgotten someones personal preference.

Considering Mark Zuckerberg just dined at Mar-A-Lago and metaphorically "kissed the ring" of Trump, I don't have much expectation that FB will turn into a sane platform anytime soon.

One of the best things I bought in the last few years was a set of wireless temperature sensors I keep in my fridge and freezer, with a temperature display magnetically stuck to the front of the fridge. It's astonishing how many people don't adjust their fridge temp right! (35f fridge, 0f freezer)

30.11.2024 00:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think one of the things that I love the most is how realistic it is... not just how the protagonist and her cousin have to travel, but how almost every man in their orbit hits on them. Old, young, boss, step dad, etc.
29.11.2024 11:01 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just watched the 2020 movie "Never Rarely Sometimes Always" - Amazing film about a teen who can't get an abortion in her area who has to travel out of state. Really moving and a good thing to show anyone who thinks that "State Rights" are more important than a woman's access to healthcare.

29.11.2024 10:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's frustrating to see so many MAGA people whine that people don't want to have Thanksgiving with them. That "we can disagree and still be friends." What they don't realize is that we don't WANT to be friends with bigots (or who support bigots). They offer nothing that I value in a relationship.

I love The Onion so much. Always has the pulse of reality... I actually spend money to subscribe to the resurgence of the print edition
26.11.2024 18:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It is gross... but it's because "ladyboy" is strongly associated with trans Filipinos who are sex workers... once again, some people keep conflating trans folk's mere existence as being something inherently sexual.

It's extremely concerning to me that so may people who have strong connections to Russia, including our president, are being put into positions of power.

24.11.2024 03:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There is a great recurring bit on the cartoon American Dad, where the family watches "Morning Mimosa" - Basically that concept. It's always hilarious and has made me wish that it was a real thing.
23.11.2024 22:52 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For the last few weeks, I've woken up immediately having an anxiety attack. It's rough feeling like you, and the people and things you care about, are about to be imminently in danger by the powerful and unstoppable government and social movements.
Anyone else having a rough time?
