The 7th Congressional District Democrats will meet this coming Monday, October 6 at One North East Lansing. Social hour begins at 5:30pm, with the meeting officially kicking off at 6pm.

October is here, which means another month of CCDP office hours! Look below for our schedule for the month. We look forward to seeing our members, friends, and supporters. As always, we will have hot coffee and great conversation.

There is still time to RSVP for CCDP's next Common Read, taking place on Wednesday, October 15 at 7pm at our office in St. Johns.

We will be discussing I Never Thought of It That Way: How to Have Fearlessly Curious Conversations in Dangerously Divided Times by Monica Guzman.

Unfortunately, our Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup scheduled for next Sunday has been canceled due to construction that has started on our exact roadway as of today, which will continue until October 31. Therefore, we will not be rescheduling the cleanup, either.

The more volunteers we can get out, the quicker we will finish. If you plan to join us, please RSVP to vicechair@clintoncodems.org.

This coming Sunday, September 28 is our Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup, where we will surely find much more trash and will need more help. We will meet at 8:30am at the carpool lot located 7585 W. Grand River Highway in Watertown Township to begin our cleanup.

It didn’t rain on our parade too much today (just a little!). Thank you to the dedicated individuals who showed up to our carpool lot cleanup today. We only picked up 7 bags of trash between the two locations in just under an hour, which we consider a successful morning.

Overall, we heard just how much Democrats are ready to make inroads, take back the Michgian House, unseat Tom Barrett, and help to build back our democracy.

A huge thank you goes to Phillips Orchards & Cider Mill for hosting us for a third consecutive year! We have enjoyed our partnership with them immensely, and are continually thankful for them providing us with such a great space, delicious treats, and opening their apple orchard to our guests!

Today was our Third Annual Fall Harvest Festival Fundraiser, and it did not disappoint! We had a great group of attendees, a fantastic lineup of speakers, and the perfect fall setting for the event.

-Office Hours which were scheduled to take place tomorrow, Saturday, September 13 from 10am-1pm.
-Coffee and Conversation, which was scheduled to take place next Tuesday, September 16 at 1pm.

CCDP is preparing for its final environmental cleanup activities for 2025. Take a look below to see when our carpool lot and Adopt-A-Highway cleanups will take place. We'd love for as many people to join us as we can get and finish the year out strong!

Our conversation regarding our resolution was an amazing example of individuals coming together to have an engaging discussion, with open minds that were ready to learn and take part in civil, productive dialogue. We are grateful for our attendees and the thought they put into the conversation.

-We received an update from John Andrews - Clinton County Commissioner and the office of State Representative Penelope Tsernoglou.
-We passed a resolution titled “A Resolution Calling For An End To The War, And Starvation, In Gaza”. The language of the resolution can be found at shorturl.at/hfsN7.

-We learned about all the upcoming volunteer and engagement opportunities hosted by CCDP, including our fall cleanups, walking in the Ovid Carriage Days Parade, the 3rd Annual Fall Harvest Festival Fundraiser, Coffee and Conversation, our next Common Read, and Pints and Politics.

We had a great turnout in St. Johns for tonight’s CCDP meeting! Read on for a summary of the evening's happenings:
-We heard from our guest speaker, William Lawrence for Congress, a Democratic candidate for the 7th Congressional District, who spoke to us about his background and his campaign.

Come visit us at our office this month! We've got plenty of yard signs available, a lending library with great books and magazines, and some shirts still available, too.

Mark your calendars for CCDP's September monthly meeting, taking place TOMORROW, Thursday, September 4 at the Clinton County Courthouse. We've got a lot of items on our agenda, and plenty of opportunities to get involved and get engaged.
