I almost get it for Olympians or national teams (but prefer the ticker tape parade in NYC) but it’s beyond stupid for non national teams.

Have your local parade, celebrate with your local fans and call it good.

I hate trying to consume non visual content in a visual form. I also hate trying to consume content audibly that should have been written. My time is precious to me and getting information via the most efficient format is vital.

Watching a tutorial? Thumbs up. Watching people talk? Nope.

This is reason #2 why I don’t listen to podcasts. I can consume written information at a rate 10x what is provided verbally.

Tonight’s Oscar nominee watch was Train Dreams. I liked it better than One Battle After Another. A nice, polite Americana style movie but I’m underwhelmed by the nominees this year in general. So far Sinners has been my favorite. Still have to watch Marty Supreme but I can’t stand Paltrow. #oscars

Difficulty? A harder program gets a higher score. A triple scores higher than a double but the idea of getting zero points for doing a double because the rules “require” a triple seems like rules for the sake of making rules.

That still doesn’t explain why there are required elements. They used to make skaters trace figures on the ice as part of the program but got rid of that because time had passed them by. IMO - the same is true for the short program.

What’s the purpose behind required elements? Why can’t you just be judged on whatever you choose to put out on the ice?

The loss of variability and increasing monotony from run to run across many of the winter Olympic sports has really decreased my enjoyment.

Nope. IMO there’s only 3 elite qbs in the league right now. Mahomes, Allen and Stafford and Mahomes has been trending downward for 2 years. Lamar has had elite seasons sandwiched between not so great ones.

I just have to say kudos to whomever in the NFL graphics department is designing these logos. Very well done and I wish some of the official merchandise from the games had these logos on them.

I don’t get the Oscar hype for One Battle After Another. It’s well acted and well shot but the story is a series of cliches and the attempted last second redemption of Perfida after the entire opening act portrayed her as a horrible narcissist was beyond bad. I thought it was a meh movie.

Maybe the Hawks dangle an assistant head coach title his way (with raise) to keep him another year but let teams know he’s HC material?

While I’d love to keep him another year. I’m guessing the Raiders job is already his. Brady loves him.

It’s been so nice having an OC that adapts, makes in game adjustments and plays to his players strengths. I don’t know if the previous OC were handicapped by Pete, but they weren’t good.

Note that there are 4 movies titled “The Quick and the Dead”. Two are westerns. The one with Sam Elliot and Kate Capshaw is a pretty bad movie. The one with Crowe, Stone, Leo and Hackman is grade A, high quality B movie material.
