The rich must be incentivised; the poor must be disciplined.

The political economy of the super-elite in one headline.

Of course with HS2 they spent the bulk of the money tunnelling under the Home Counties, as they didn’t want overground rail and bridges spoiling the view.

On the other hand, 450 massive pylons in Scotland, in order to supply England, was no problem at all as they wouldn’t spoil the view in England

It's no accident that there are more inspectors
chasing the few quid each of benefit fraud
with scathing headlines every time
than there are HMRC inspectors
looking into (but almost never prosecuting )
$billions in tax and company fraud

A Company called Skyrora have a licence to launch rockets from Scotland’s spaceport. The National calls them a Scottish Company with HQ in Glasgow & manufacturing in Cumbernauld. The BBC calls them a UK Company based in Edinburgh.
Whichever is correct, note the BBC emphasis on Britishness.

Wilfred Frost asks Nick Maynard, can the British govt actually do anything more than just political posturing over Gaza?

Nick: Call it genocide. Recognise the war crimes. A complete arms embargo. Stop all military assistance. Cease all existing trade deals. Apply sanctions.

It seems Trump is happy to waste money in his quest for cruelty. There can be no excuse for destroying birth control when it has already been paid for.

Just hours ago, Islamophobic freaks like Laura Loomer were blaming the shooting on Islam and Muslims and immigrants, as ever, meanwhile the NYPD police officer killed was a Muslim. Awful. A pregnant widow. Awful.

Has the EU played Trump at his own game, making promises they can’t keep in order to satisfy his ego? If so, well done.

Can’t argue with any of that. What still disappoints me is the number of Scots who fell for the Labour lies. It’s as if they learned nothing from 2014 and haven’t been paying attention since then.

Just 5 months before the 2024 election, I challenged Labour on BBC Question Time, to clearly commit that an incoming Labour government would recognise Palestine.

No caveats, no conditions, Ian Murray simply said yes.

He's now been in the cabinet for over a year, and it still hasn't happened.

The fact that the President of the United States posts a fake video of a kneeling Barack Obama being handcuffed and we’re supposed to pretend it’s perfectly normal, everyday stuff shows exactly what is terribly wrong with today’s political mainstream media.
