The author says in the article that they had pre-ordered the vinyl weeks prior, and then when the album was officially released, she then streamed it and realized she didn’t like it. So it wasn’t that she’d pre-ordered an album she already knew she wouldn’t like.

I am stuck on this part. How can someone have the thought "I am going to write a Happy Ending For Ophelia story about a Good Man" in the first place? It is one of the more famous arcs in literature and it's about a woman thrown into terrible despair by the actions of every man she has ever known.
