Lemme just say if President Bernie Sanders had unilaterally imposed, by executive fiat, hundreds of billions of new taxes, personally browbeat executives about job cuts and investments and then fired the head of BLS, the Chamber of Commerce and the business orgs would not be sitting idly by.

He has done the same thing with our entire health care/science apparatus, which I would argue was much more of a crown jewel. Wish this was talked about more.

He is now, with the power of the propaganda machine supporting him, where even if she later (after being pardoned) implicates Trump, he can just say "fake news", "witch hunt" and make the story go away. Or just not worry about it. He has the FBI, the DOJ, the DOD, all headed by his zealots.

He made it blatantly obvious with his "I'm allowed to give her a pardon" comment. Zero reason for him stating this except for the obvious, that he is sending her a message that he can and will. She would have to be an absolute imbecile to not read that loud and clear.

Honestly this is giving him way too much credit for thinking things through. She will make a statement exonerating him and pointing the finger at all of his various enemies, and he will pardon her, and the Fox/Twitter propaganda machine will go into overdrive quelling the outrage. Done.
